Lunch will be served at 12:30; the cost is $17.00 A return speaker on Social Activism topics, Claudia Chiesi, will be returning with another riveting program. Locally, and in some other parts of this country, and Canada, there are efforts/activity to address the fundamental injustice that has subjugated native people. Western hemisphere native/indigenous people have been deprived of their land and their human rights since the 1400s— based primarily on doctrines emanating from popes and royal families of Europe. The writings from the period, known as papal bulls, are stunning since they purport to be the voice of God telling the royals to claim lands and resources and to either convert or vanquish native people. Further, the US Constitution uses this same reasoning and writing in the current law to support and extend the travesty.
