John Montague is our very special guest this evening. He is Professor Emeritus at the State University of New York College at Buffalo. He was formally trained in architectural history ( Ph.D. University of Wisconsin, 1974) and was active in developing the field of Design History. He has worked as a designer, filmmaker, animator, illustrator, architectural preservationist, and boat builder. He is coauthor and illustrator of two popular boatbuilding books: Building the Six Hour Canoe and Building the Weekend Skiff. He was cofounder and director of the Buffalo Maritime Center, dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historic watercraft. In addition to boat design he is a member of the American Society of Marine Artists, focusing on maritime painting and illustration.

There are some wonderful programs at the Center. Come to be entertained; come to learn. And, above all, come to enjoy the company of good friends!

Program dinners are scheduled on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. They are catered by Applewood’s Café. Cost per person is $17.00—payable by check or cash to The College Club.
