Program Luncheon – Monday, December 5th, 2016

Come join us for a dynamic program. Louis Clay is a wonderful storyteller. He will join us and fill us with wonder. You may remember him as he told tales of Ireland when we had an Irish evening. This time he will be keeping in the spirit of the season by telling holiday theme stories. Let your imagination run free and go back to your childhood and escape to the magic of Christmas tales.

Program Luncheon – Monday, December 12th, 2016

Program description: Join us for a “Cup of Christmas Cheer”. On our last program before the holidays we will spread the cheer of the season. Tea and cookies will be served but….. we will spend the afternoon writing cards and decorating and packaging Christmas cookies for our veterans in the hospital. Unfrosted cookies will be provided as well as frosting and decorations for you to use. We will also have cards and pens for your use. Please join us and help to make our hospital bound veterans know that they are not forgotten.

Program Lunches: Mondays, October 3rd, 10th, 24th and 31st

This month we have three program luncheons planned. Our tasty lunches are catered by Apple Wood Café and Catering located at 5385 Main Street in Williamsville.

Carolann Besch very capably manages the luncheon reservations. Please sign up with Carolann by phone (883-4482) or at the Club by noon on the Friday immediately before the luncheon so she has an accurate count for the caterer. The cost of the lunch is $17.00.

October 3rd 

Today we will be honoring the October birthday ladies and Betty Loucks, who has been a member of the College Club for 25 years!

October 10th

October 24th
Beth Kauffman has introduced us to a very talented poetess – her daughter. Karen Schubert will be returning to entertain us with an afternoon reading of her wonderful poetry. This is an afternoon you will truly enjoy!! Make plans to come, sit back and listen to a gifted artist.

October 31st
Hari O’Conner is a retired teacher and an avid collector of miniatures. She attends and participates in National Collectors Conventions and shows. She will bring an array of miniatures for your enjoyment and speak about this interesting movement.

Our speaker for September 12th has not been confirmed—we are waiting for his call even as I word process this newsletter. But I am assured that the program will be marvelous and you will love it. So make your plans to attend our first program luncheon of the year and plan to be surprised.

September 26th: Dr. Anthony Del Nuovo, Ph.D will conduct a workshop exploring the present daily effectiveness of our interpersonal connections. It will seek ways to enrich and revitalize our here and now experiences so as to renew and add new vitality to one’s golden years. Myths and truths regarding elder years will be explored and addressed.

Program luncheons are scheduled on Mondays with the exception of the 3rd Monday which is reserved for the Bridge Luncheon.

Lunch is served at 12:30 p.m. Catering is provided by Applewood’s Café. Cost per person is $17.00.

Summer Garden Parties: Wednesdays, July 20th & August 17th

Be sure to sign up at the Club and join your friends for the annual summer parties. Bring a dish to pass – a salad, a dessert, or condiments, and friends are always welcome. Sign-up sheets are on the table near the piano. Cost is $5.00 and there will be a one-item raffle to benefit the Garden refurbishing. Lunch is served at 12 noon, so have your dishes at the Club by 11:45 so they can be set up and ready to serve.
